Cricket at Malvern

One of the top cricketing schools in the UK, our pupils enjoy a varied training programme and competitive fixture list with specialist coaching.

At Malvern College, cricket is more than a sport – it is a tradition embedded in our culture and community.

Our pupils benefit from outstanding coaching, excellent facilities and the support needed to pursue their ambitions, whether aiming for the professional game or playing for pure enjoyment. We are proud of our alumni who have represented county and country and equally proud of the many pupils who flourish within our strong cricketing culture.

Coaching

Our bespoke cricket programme is designed to help pupils achieve their goals – whether striving for the professional game or proudly representing Malvern College in summer fixtures. Led by three full-time Level 3 coaches with expertise across the professional and pathway game, for both girls and boys, players benefit from state-of-the-art analysis technology, dedicated one-to-one sessions and specialist group coaching throughout the school year.

Pathway Development

Malvern has strong partnerships with Worcestershire CCC and Warwickshire CCC, with many of our boys’ and girls’ scholars involved in Academy, Sub-Academy and Emerging Player Programmes. These county pathways are comprehensive, covering performance skills, fitness, nutrition and lectures. Combined with our own cricket and TAP programmes, we provide pupils with a level of support that goes well beyond what most schools can offer.

Equally important is maintaining the right balance between sport and academic study, something carefully overseen through the TAP framework. Many past and present pupils have also been involved with other counties, including Gloucestershire and Somerset, and we work closely with counties across the region to ensure every pupil receives the support they need to thrive.
