Cricket at Malvern

One of the top cricketing schools in the UK, our pupils enjoy a varied training programme and competitive fixture list with specialist coaching.

Cricket has a long and successful tradition at Malvern College and we provide pupils with an environment where those with cricketing talent and ambitions to play professional cricket can find the very best support, coaching and facilities.

We are proud, not only of our extensive trophy cabinet, but also of the impressive list of alumni who have gone on to perform at county and international level.

Coaching

One-to-one coaching for our sports scholars and those in the 1st XI squad is given throughout the Spring term in preparation for the Summer term.

This includes one-hour individual sessions with either the Master in Charge of Cricket, expert staff or Worcestershire County Cricket Club coaches. Individual training programmes are also tailored to help improve performance. All coaches involved with our teams have ECB qualifications and many have played at a high standard themselves.

Pathway Development

Malvern has strong links with Worcestershire CCC, with many of our cricket scholars involved with either the Worcestershire Academy Programme or Emerging Players Programmes. The training programme with the Academy and EPP is extensive involving nets, nutrition, fitness and lectures. We work closely with the county to make sure pupils are getting the right balance between their cricket and academic work. We also have pupils who are involved with other counties, including Gloucestershire and Somerset, and ensure they are getting the correct amount of cricket through one-to-one coaching seminars and nets.
