BTEC courses are designed for pupils who want to combine knowledge with practical application. Through coursework, projects, practical assessments and real-world scenarios, you’ll learn how to apply what you know, develop your skills and take greater ownership of your learning.
We offer the BTEC Diploma which is equivalent to two A levels. However, if pupils are taking TWO other A levels alongside the BTEC Diploma, it is possible to ‘cash in’ at the end of the Lower Sixth and be awarded the Certificate (which is equivalent to one A level).
At Malvern College, our BTEC pathways give you the opportunity to build a strong foundation for further study, apprenticeships or employment in the sports and outdoor sectors.
BTEC assessment is based around coursework, practical projects and applied learning rather than a final written examination. Depending on the pathway, you could be developing a coaching session, working with participants, planning an outdoor activity, managing risk or exploring how sport can support health, wellbeing and inclusion.
