Welcome to Malvern College: one of England’s great independent schools.
Wrapped in the warm embrace of the glorious Malvern Hills, with an admired and distinguished history, Malvern alumni have helped to shape the modern world of science, sport, literature and the arts for generations.
Although we are a long way from 1865, when the College was founded, some things will never change. Our commitment to developing outstanding young people with the skills, resilience and initiative to flourish in a rapidly changing global landscape remains – all these years later – at the very heart of our approach, and our beliefs.
Naturally, we offer a strong academic focus, with an enrichment programme that stimulates intellectual curiosity and academic breadth beyond the confines of examination criteria. But, undeniably, it is our diverse super-curricular and co-curricular programmes that promote all-round personal development and a happy and healthy lifestyle, which broadens horizons and instils a lust for life.
We want our pupils to embrace the world and all that it has to offer, with the experiences and confidence that will shape their future endeavours. Every member of staff sees and cares for the individual in every pupil. They encourage pupils to be independent, take calculated risks, and adopt the ethos of service to others that underpins our school. We are known for our thoughtful and personal support. This is the foundation on which excellence in all other areas is built; in pupils’ academic and co-curricular achievements, and also simply in their interactions with those around them and the way that they approach life.
On meeting a Malvernian, you will find that typically this confidence translates into an optimism and openness to welcome newcomers warmly. This is something that I very much hope you will experience for yourself when you come and visit us in the rolling English countryside.
