Malvern College has announced a new three-year partnership with Worcestershire County Cricket Club (WCCC), confirming the College as the Club’s official winter training venue through to 2028.
The agreement formalises a long-established relationship between the two organisations. For more than 15 years, Malvern College has hosted Worcestershire’s professional squads, academy players and performance pathways during the winter months.
Under the new partnership, Worcestershire CCC will continue to use the College’s Sports Complex for indoor cricket training, strength and conditioning, and player development programmes. The arrangement spans all levels of the Club, including professional teams, academy and pathway players, as well as women’s and girls’ squads.
The collaboration also strengthens alignment between the two institutions in player development, complementing Malvern College’s established cricket scholarship programme and reinforcing its reputation as one of the UK’s leading cricket schools.
Mark Hardinges, Director of Sport at Malvern College, described the agreement as a clear commitment from both sides.
“This agreement is a significant statement of intent from both organisations. Worcestershire CCC is a club with a clear sense of purpose and ambition, and we are proud that Malvern College continues to play a role in supporting their players’ development at every level.
“Cricket has been part of the fabric of Malvern College for generations, and this partnership reflects our commitment to providing outstanding facilities, expertise and opportunities for young cricketers alongside elite performers.”
Worcestershire CCC Chief Executive Ashley Giles highlighted the importance of continuity and shared values.
“Malvern College and Worcestershire County Cricket Club have a shared history dating back over a century. The College has been an integral part of our winter programme for nearly two decades, and formalising this partnership gives both sides clarity and confidence for the years ahead.
“The quality of the environment, the facilities and the people at Malvern all align with our values around development, preparation and long-term thinking. This is about creating the right conditions for our players and pathways to thrive.”
Malvern College has a cricketing heritage spanning more than 150 years, with the sport deeply embedded in school life. The College has produced numerous county and international players and continues to combine elite sporting provision with academic excellence at its Malvern Hills campus.
Both organisations have also committed to expanding the partnership beyond training, with plans for increased community engagement, joint promotion and regular strategic review meetings to maximise its impact across the wider Worcestershire cricketing community.
The agreement runs until summer 2028.
