International Admissions
to Malvern College

Malvern College is regarded as one of the best boarding schools in the UK. Find out more about our international admissions process.

Malvern College is rooted in its heritage yet propelled by the curious and innovative young minds of the pupils who form this diverse and inclusive community.

Being globally minded is a part of our legacy and we are proud of our international pupil body, welcoming overseas pupils across both our senior and prep schools.

Over 45 nationalities are represented at Malvern College, with international pupils enrolled in every year group, including our Pre-Sixth programme – a one year course taken prior to Sixth Form.

Besides British pupils, we do not have a single dominant international community. We firmly believe in maintaining a diverse mix of nationalities throughout the College and within our 11 Boarding Houses. This diversity enhances the educational journey by exposing all pupils to a multitude of cultures, languages, and viewpoints, cultivating a kaleidoscopic perspective. It equips all pupils with the broad cultural lens necessary for navigating life beyond.

As a full boarding school, our international pupils enjoy a full and enriching programme of activity, with extensive opportunities inside and outside of the classroom.

International Admissions Process
Step One – Enquiry

The first step is to complete the Enquiry Form. We encourage families to speak with our Admissions Team and to make an appointment to visit the school so you can experience Malvern College first-hand.

Step Two – Visit Us

We understand that visiting the campus may not be possible. However, experiencing the magic of Malvern first-hand with either a personalised tour of the campus to meet staff and pupils, or attending one of our Open Mornings is highly advised.

Step Three – Registration

Following the initial enquiry, prospective pupils need to complete a Registration Form and provide a Registration Fee payment. We request copies of a pupil’s two most recent school reports so that we can ensure that Malvern College is a place where they will thrive.

Step Four – Entrance Assessments

Once a pupil is registered, the Admissions Team will arrange the relevant age-appropriate online entrance testing, including English language testing. This can be carried out in several ways and can be conducted remotely.

Step Five – Entrance Interview

All overseas applicants will be invited to an interview.

Whilst we prefer to meet prospective pupils in person when they visit, we understand that international travel is not always possible within the admission timeline, so international interviews can take place online.

Step Six – Outcome

Once all elements of the admissions process have been completed, successful applicants will then be offered a place. Waiting lists are sometimes in operation; where this is the case the Admissions Team will do all that they can to support families with up-to-date information on the likelihood of future enrolment.

Two boys in school uniforms sit at a desk, smiling and engaging in an art activity. They are holding carving tools and working on linoleum blocks. Various art supplies and materials are scattered on the table around them, showcasing a typical day in about-lower-school art class, with other students in the background.
