60th Anniversary of the 59 Club


The 59 Club has around 30 regular members, from Epsom College to Newcastle Grammar School; the aim of the club is to promote the teaching of science in schools through the sharing of information and best practice. The club meets each term in a different school location and the sessions comprise a lecture given by a guest speaker, a business meeting and a tour of the host school, giving us the opportunity to see how other schools manage their science and wider curriculum.

Jesus Christ Superstar

596-IMG_1368.jpgThe Drama department production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ was performed in the Rogers Theatre to great acclaim last week. This was an outstanding production, a performance full of emotion, energy and verve. A tremendous amount of singing dancing and acting talent was evident amongst our musical theatre pupils who relished presenting Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s rock opera.

Adventure Training Expedition in Snowdonia

Over the second Leave-out 14 members of the CCF conducted Adventurous Training in the Snowdonia. On Saturday, the aim was to summit Snowdon, and in spite of poor weather conditions, with snow and ice near the summit, the cadets successfully reached the top - something only a small number of others managed to do that day.

Remembrance 2019

595-remem-2.jpgMalvern College sustained enormous losses in the Great War, as did many schools of our kind. 457 Malvernians lost their lives in this war and on Remembrance Sunday, we held two Chapel Services and an Act of Remembrance at St George.

Malvern College Retains The Border Shield

597-Screen_Shot_2019-12-16_at_19.30.56.pngThere was a tremendous turnout for the third Border Shield contest between Monmouth Boys’ and Malvern College at Ledbury Rugby Football Club just before Half term.

Conditions were damp from the start, with Malvern playing up the slope. An early penalty, conceded from the opening kick-off, gave Monmouth three easy points but the next passage of play was conducted in the middle of the pitch with both teams testing each other.
