Today we celebrate World Jazz Day. A global reminder of the power of music to unite.⁠ ⁠ Led by UNESCO, International Jazz Day brings together people in over 190 countries, recognising jazz as a force for peace and mutual understanding.⁠ ⁠ At Malvern College, these values are lived every day. Not content with a quiet off-season, last week our rugby coaching staff had the privilege of spending the day with @saracensofficial⁠ 🏉⁠ ⁠ From team meetings and unit sessions to live play and opposition preview ahead of their clash with Sale Sharks, it was an inspiring insight into life at the top level of the game. We were also fortunate to speak with coaches and players, including @maroitoje , gaining valuable perspective on what drives high performance.⁠ ⁠ Experiences like this are vital to rugby at Malvern College, reinforcing the ambition, resilience and commitment we aim to instil in all our players. Malvern Monday | Another outstanding week of achievement across out community to update on this week.⁠ 🌍 52 members of the 2026 Rugby Tour squad completed a 2,600km charity cycle supporting HOKISA in South Africa⁠ ⁠ 🏃 Mr Stewart ran a marathon distance (145 laps of the Triangle on campus) for Myeloma UK⁠ 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Mr Needham and his daughter Mary completed the London Marathon for Shelter⁠ 🎓 Chloe-Evelyn M. earned a place at the John Locke Institute Symposium⁠ 🔬 Excellent results in the Senior Physics Challenge with multiple Silver awards and a Gold for Leonid K⁠ ✍️ Outstanding success in the World Chinese Students’ Essay Competition, with Adrian G. achieving a top 0.67% global ranking⁠ ➗ Strong performances in the Maths Challenge, with pupils achieving Gold, Silver and Bronze awards⁠ 🏏🏉🎾 A brilliant week of sport, with a strong start to cricket including a 130-run First XI win, alongside tennis success for Houses 4 and 5, Herefordshire representation for Mirre W and Lauren A, and congratulations to Charlie T on signing a professional contract with Warwickshire CCC⁠ 🐎 Equestrian success at the Allens Hill NSEA Qualifier, with a team dressage win and multiple riders qualifying for Nationals⁠ 🏏 Congratulations to OM Tommy Boorman on making his First Class debut for @gloucestershire_cricket, scoring 19 and 42 against Lancashire - a fantastic milestone for the Malvernian community⁠ ⁠ Wishing everyone a great week ahead as summer examinations begin on campus.⁠ ⁠ Head to the link in our bio to read more.
