Vanessa Young

DIRECTOR OF PASTORAL WELFARE & Teacher of Textiles

Following her study of Clothing Management at the Nottingham Trent University, Vanessa began her career on a graduate training scheme with Marks and Spencer where she was a trainee store manager and buyer before returning home to work in the family business. Vanessa is accredited as a Youth Mental Health First Aid trainer and is passionate about young people being able to do their best when they feel fulfilled and understood. Vanessa is an experienced Housemistress and has successfully undertaken this role in two boarding houses. As well as teaching Design Technology, Vanessa has had key pastoral roles at Malvern, as E-Safety Co-ordinator and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and Head of Life Skills. Vanessa loves making clothes and particularly enjoys spending her downtime with her animals, Daisy the Labradoodle and Molly her cat. Vanessa is married to Rob who is the Sports Complex Operations Manager at Malvern they have three sons.
