“Ask the students what their favourite aspect of Malvern is, and its ‘super-curriculum’ gets multiple votes. Interested in architecture? There’s a society. Medicine? There’s a society. Engineering? Physics? Languages? There’s a society. As one pupil says, ‘You are given every opportunity. The school doesn’t limit you in the least. And head Keith Metcalfe proudly admits the environment is ‘unashamedly academic’. However, he adds that Malvern is definitely not a hot house. Instead, the focus is on how the children will go on to present themselves to the world, so there’s plenty of character-forming afoot.
