Tomorrow's role models, shaped today.

Future-Ready

Malvernians step into the world with more than just strong academics. They learn to think sharply, act wisely and work across cultures — the blend of IQ, EQ and CQ that defines modern leadership. It’s why our pupils thrive at university and move faster in early careers: they’ve already learned how to collaborate, influence and adapt long before they leave Malvern College.

EQ

Emotional Intelligence

Shaping happy, confident pupils in an inspiring location.

IQ

Intellectual Intelligence

Individual pathways leading to a choice of IB or A levels.

CQ

Cultural Intelligence

A British boarding school with a diverse international community.

A group of children in school uniforms climb and sit on the branches of a large leafy tree in a sunny, grassy outdoor area. Some children are perched high on the branches, while others stand or sit lower down, all appearing engaged and happy, making the scene feel like a home away from home.

An armillary sphere, a historical astronomical instrument, is depicted with intricately arranged metal rings and a central globe, mounted on a pedestal. Much like tracking academic performance through exam results, the rings are marked with various celestial coordinates used to model the motions of celestial bodies.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Does Malvern College offer scholarships or bursaries?

Yes! There are no barriers to a Malvern College education. The Malvern College Scholarship programme seeks exceptional pupils who possess a unique spark of brilliance. We offer scholarships in:

  • Academia
  • Art & Design
  • Music
  • Drama
  • Sport

Alongside our scholarships, we also have a long tradition of providing bursaries to children who would thrive in our school environment but who lack the financial means. Our bursaries are funded by philanthropic support through the Malvernian Society as well as directly by the College and are available to new pupils and existing pupils (should a family’s circumstances change during their time with us).

Read more on our Scholarship and Bursaries page.

What is the difference between boarding and day pupils?

Here at Malvern, whether boarding or day, every pupil is fully integrated into house life, which helps to create a thriving, inclusive, and supportive community. By having day and boarding pupils in the same house, it ensures that our day pupils enjoy the same level of support, access to facilities, and opportunities as our boarders.

Read more on our Boarding and Day models page.

What is the typical class size in the Lower School at Malvern College?

On average, a typical class size in the Lower school (Years 9 – 11) is 16 to 18 pupils.

How does the school support pupils academically and pastorally?

Our pupils are supported at every step. Our Tutor system provides well-considered academic support for each pupil throughout their school career. Tutor groups are co-educational and from a mixture of Houses to ensure balance and integration. In the Sixth Form, pupils are able to choose their own Tutor, giving them autonomy to make the decisions that matter to them, further strengthening their life at Malvern. Alongside this our boarding houses have their own teams of tutors and house staff who ensure the pastoral support is just as strong as the academic support.

How does Malvern College support international pupils?

Malvern College is home to pupils from over 45 nationalities, all fully integrated across our 11 boarding houses. This diverse community, supported by experienced House teams and tutors, helps international pupils feel at home, build friendships quickly and develop the cultural awareness and confidence they need for life beyond school.

What is the application process like for overseas families?

We have a 6-step international admissions process for any overseas family looking at Malvern College. We also work alongside a variety of agents who can help with the process. Many parts of the process can be completed remotely, but we do highly recommend visiting the campus to get that first-hand experience of Malvern.
