International Admissions

Proud of our International Outlook

Malvern College is rooted in its heritage yet propelled by the curious and innovative young minds of the pupils who form this diverse and inclusive community. Being globally minded is a part of our legacy and we are proud of our international pupil body, welcoming overseas pupils across both our senior and prep schools.

Over 45 nationalities are represented at Malvern College, with international pupils enrolled in every year group, including our Pre-Sixth programme – a one year course taken prior to Sixth Form.

Besides British pupils, we do not have a single dominant international community. We firmly believe in maintaining a diverse mix of nationalities throughout the College and within our 11 Boarding Houses. This diversity enhances the educational journey by exposing all pupils to a multitude of cultures, languages, and viewpoints, cultivating a kaleidoscopic perspective. It equips all pupils with the broad cultural lens necessary for navigating life beyond.

As a full boarding school, our international pupils enjoy a full and enriching programme of activity, with extensive opportunities inside and outside of the classroom. Read more on our extraordinary co-curriculum provision here.

Benefits of studying in the UK

Studying abroad offers transformative experiences, and at Malvern College, we recognise its profound impact.

Malvern College is one of the best boarding schools in the UK for international pupils and is also among the best International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in the UK. The international culture within our traditional British boarding school gives pupils the chance to immerse themselves in a range of cultures, languages, global perspectives and valuable life skills. Whilst our staff dedicate themselves to providing a safe and nurturing environment allowing pupils to flourish academically, personally, and socially.

"I love how Malvern College offers a true mix of International students from around the world as well as English students. It's wonderful having so many nationalities in this beautiful, traditional English school environment. It helped me feel at home and settle in quickly, I am new to boarding but felt welcome right away by the boarding House staff and girls. Academically I really appreciate how my teachers show genuine interest in my academic development."

International admissions entrance process at Malvern College

The international admissions process typically starts 12-18 months before enrolment but can be tailored to individual needs.

Malvern is a renowned boarding school and as such our admissions process is highly competitive, with waiting lists operating across many of our year groups. Our experienced International team are here to guide you through the application process.

International admissions process
Step One - Enquiry

The first step is to complete the Enquiry Form. We encourage families to speak with our Admissions Team and to make an appointment to visit the school so they can experience Malvern College first-hand.

Step Two – Registration

Following the initial enquiry, prospective pupils need to complete a Registration Form and provide a Registration Fee payment of £200. Prior to this, we request copies of a pupil’s two most recent school reports so that we can ensure that Malvern College is a place where they will thrive.

Step Three – Entrance Assessments

Once a pupil is registered, the Admissions Team will arrange the relevant age-appropriate online entrance testing, including English language testing. This can be carried out in several ways and can be conducted remotely

Step Four - Entrance Interview

Applicants will be invited to an interview. Whilst we prefer to meet prospective pupils in person, we understand that international travel is not always straightforward, so international interviews can take place online.

Step Five – Outcome

Once all elements of the admissions process have been completed, successful applicants will then be offered a place. Waiting lists are sometimes in operation; where this is the case the Admissions Team will do all that they can to support families with up-to-date information on the likelihood of future enrolment.
