Emily read Music at the University of Durham, where she was a choral scholar at the College of St Hild and St Bede. After graduating, she completed her Primary PGCE with French and began her teaching career overseas at Riverside International School, where she spent eight years as Head of Key Stage 1.
Returning to the UK with her family, Emily joined Llandaff Cathedral School as a Year 1 teacher before spending eight years as Head of Nursery and Pre-Prep at Ryde School with Upper Chine. She joined The Downs Malvern with her husband, who works in the boarding house, and their children, who attend Malvern College and The Downs.
Emily brings a passion for music and children’s literature, together with a firm belief in the transformative power of the great outdoors.
