Malvern College is today celebrating excellent GCSE results, with more than half of all grades awarded at 9-7 and almost three quarters at 9-6.
Eleven pupils achieved grades 9-7 in every GCSE they took, including: Elena M, Ronan D, Albert L, Lauren A, Raphael D and Gerald P.
Music Scholar Raphael recently took part in Malvern’s Nordic Expedition, which saw pupils sail in a Viking longboat, hike and sea kayak across the Baltic Sea from Denmark to Sweden.
Ronan joined the Malvern Family of Schools in prep at The Downs Malvern. The Drama scholar has taken an active role in College productions, including playing Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice.
Another pupil who started at The Downs, Lauren A also achieved 9-7 grades. Lauren joined Malvern College having been awarded the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Cricket Scholarship.
The majority of this year’s GCSE pupils will now continue their education in Malvern College’s Sixth Form, choosing between A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC pathways.
They will join a Sixth Form community that celebrated exceptional results last week, with 83% of A-level, International Baccalaureate (IB) and BTEC grades awarded at an equivalent of A* – B. The top 30 pupils taking the full IB Diploma achieved an average score of 41 points out of 45, a stellar result which at A-level equates to three A*.
We are extremely proud of all our GCSE pupils and the results they have achieved. With more than half of grades at 9-7 and almost three-quarters at 9-6, this is a fantastic set of results and testament to the hard work, determination and commitment of our pupils, as well as the dedication of our teaching staff.
