Hockey at Malvern College

Welcome, and thank you for exploring our exceptional school!

Our dynamic, high-performance hockey programme for boys and girls is led by FIH Level 5 coach Elliot Foweraker and supported by a top-class team of professionals. We help players develop their skills and reach their full potential—whether at local, regional or national levels. We offer state-of-the-art facilities, not just for hockey but for a wide range of sports.

Year-Round Coaching

Autumn Term

  • Girls: Two games sessions per week and up to three co-curricular clubs (including indoor)
  • Boys: One games session per week and up to three co-curricular clubs (including indoor)

Spring Term

  • Girls: Continue their training in games and co-curricular sessions
  • Boys: Two games sessions per week and up to three co-curricular clubs

Summer Term

  • Three co-curricular clubs per week and adult summer league competition
Individual Development

We focus on each athlete’s growth through 1:1 sessions and small-group coaching, video analysis (Hudl Sportscode, Veo), and personalised development plans.

World-Class Facilities
  • Double Indoor Sports Hall (Hosting county/regional competitions)
  • Two pitches, one international standard waterbase pitch and one hybrid pitch, both floodlit.
  • Floodlit astro turf & hybrid pitch
  • West Midlands’ only school-based water pitch (used by Premier League clubs)
  • Strength & Conditioning Suite, and Beaver Fit training rig.
Coaching Team
  • Elliot Foweraker – Director of Hockey FIH Level 5 coach, national/international experience (Wales, Commonwealth Games 2022)
  • Holly Smith – Performance Coach FIH Level 3, National League player, European & Welsh Indoor champion
