The annual commemoration of Founders and Benefactors was a rather different affair this year because of Covid restrictions. Rather than gather as a whole College community in Malvern Priory was had intended to gather for an outdoor service on the Terrace at College. However, wet weather drove us indoors and the service was live streamed to the Houses and parents from the Chapel with a limited number of those involved present in Chapel.
Musical contributions were made by the Chamber Choir singing Abendlied by Josef Rheinberger and the Brass Ensemble accompanied the hymns which were sung by the choir. The address was given by Mark Jackson, former High Sheriff of Worcestershire, reminding us that effective leadership is about servanthood and recalling Jesus’ words from John 10 ‘ whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.’
The Headmaster read the act of commemoration and despite the Government constraints, the occasion was a fitting way to remember our Founders and Benefactors.
This was followed by the annual ‘CCF Gun Run’, won by the Lower Sixth, and pupil prize-giving.
