It has been a remarkable summer for Malvern College pupil Charlie T., who has celebrated two major milestones in his rapidly developing cricket career.
Having recently made his England U19 Test debut in the series against South Africa, Charlie has now added another significant achievement to his growing list of accomplishments, making his professional debut for Warwickshire County Cricket Club in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
The 16-year-old made his first-team debut against Somerset, bowling his full allocation of ten overs as Warwickshire began their One Day Cup campaign. Charlie’s appearance marks another exciting step in his journey after signing his first professional contract with the county earlier this year and representing England at Under-19 level.
Adding to the occasion, the fixture featured three Malvernians, highlighting the strength of the College’s cricketing programme and its continued contribution to the professional game.
Cricket continues to thrive at Malvern College. We are proud to celebrate 23 pupils currently involved in county cricket pathways across Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire – a reflection of the strength and depth of cricket at the College. These pathways continue to develop talent and create exciting opportunities, with Charlie’s England U19 debut and now his professional debut for Warwickshire providing the latest example of where dedication and hard work can lead.
Charlie continues to demonstrate the talent, dedication and composure that have made him one of the country’s most exciting young cricketers. Everyone at Malvern College congratulates him on these outstanding achievements and looks forward to following his progress throughout the rest of the season.
