CCF – Swynnerton Training Area

Over the weekend 120 members of the CCF took part in exercises at Swynnerton Training Area. For the 65 members of the Remove who attended, this was the culmination of two terms of ‘Basic Training’ and was their first chance to put into practice the many skills they have been working upon. Tasks included putting up and sleeping in bashas, field cooking, navigation, laser Building and Room Clearance, laser Fighting In Woods, Casualty Evacuation and a full on, blank-firing Section Attack. Tasks and sections were brilliantly led by the senior cadets and all the recruits performed with distinction. Congratulations to them for passing their training.

Meanwhile, 15 members of the 100 and Pre-VI completed a weekend of Leadership and Advanced training, involving planning, Command Tasks, and Patrolling and information-gathering – all ably led by Kipp Norbury and Issy Wilson. It was impressive to see these future leaders giving up their time and everyone involved showed enthusiasm and determination in what they did. Very well done to all involved.

Thanks to Mr Lacey, Mr Wilson, Mr Jarvis, Mr Smith, Ms Straw, Mr McGregor, Miss Abutier and Miss Cullen for all their hard work, and especially to Mr Nichols for all his many efforts to make the event work so well.
