CCF Rifles 2020

120 members of the CCF deployed to Staffordshire to take part in the Malvern Rifles exercise, the culmination of Basic Training for the Remove and Advanced Training for the Hundred.

After patrolling into their Harbour Areas in the training area woodland, the cadets built their ‘bashas’ to sleep in before settling for the night. Meanwhile, the Hundred took part in blank-firing ‘house clearing’ drills. The second day was spent on a busy schedule of activities including blank firing Section Attacks and Casualty Rescue stands; Paintball Room clearance training; going on an Obstacle Course as well as firing on a Laser Range and taking part in a First Aid Scenario. The effort, energy and good humour shown by everybody was most impressive and a number of the external staff commented on how well all involved did.

A special mention must go to Cadet Sgt Major Esther Woods, who was overseeing a variety of the stands; this was her 15th CCF exercise – a remarkable feat and indicative of her excellent commitment and dedication to helping others. Thank you, Esther, for all that you have given to Malvern CCF over the past four years.
A final thanks should also go to the staff who enabled the event to happen; Mr Lacey; Mr Nichols; Mr Reid; Mr Bilclough; Mr Eglin; Mr Wilson; Mr Jarvis; Miss Parker, Miss Emma Tudor (OM) and Ms Kirsty Gill.
