Best-ever performance in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge

Best-ever performance in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge

Malvern College had one of their best-ever performances in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge for Lower Sixth (C3L6) this summer, with the competition taking place online for the first time. Twelve pupils tackled some difficult questions on isomers of aromatic compounds as well as the previously undiscovered metal stuck-at-holmium, and the school achieved one of its highest-ever average scores. Copper certificates were awarded to Georgina and Ran, while Banita and Peter  both won superb Silver prizes. Special congratulations go to Ben for winning a Gold Star award, replacing the traditional Roentgenium prize, having scored 56/60. Ben’s achievement is especially impressive as he was one of only 40 of the 6400 entrants to do so, placing him into the top 0.6% internationally, so well done to him!
