Nick Tisdale

Nick Tisdale is a true inspiration, both on and off the rugby field. From a young age, rugby was in his blood, and his natural talent was spotted early by a PE teacher who encouraged him to join a local club. This passion took him from grassroots rugby to the professional turf, playing for Worcester Warriors RFC from 1993 to 2000.

With an unwavering commitment to developing young players, Nick transitioned into coaching, spending eight years as Head Coach and Assistant Housemaster at Old Swinford Hospital before joining Malvern College in 2009. Under his leadership, Malvern’s rugby programme has soared, with pupils competing in leagues, cup finals, and international tours. His dedication is reflected in the school’s impressive silverware, and he is the driving force behind the legendary Border Shield tournament – a fiercely contested fixture showcasing teamwork, respect, and camaraderie.  Beyond the College, Nick remains deeply involved in grassroots rugby, coaching Ledbury RFC’s senior team and playing a key role in their promotion. A master at spotting and nurturing talent, he instills discipline, resilience, and teamwork in every pupil. His impact is seen not just in victories but in the exceptional young adults who emerge from his programme. We are privileged to have a leader of Nick’s calibre shaping our rugby legacy.
