Jess joined Malvern College from The Downs Malvern on a Sport and Drama Scholarship, having already distinguished herself in both areas. A passionate and dedicated sportswoman, she has quickly become an integral part of Malvern’s hockey programme. Her sharp reactions, fearlessness, and natural aptitude between the posts have seen her establish herself as the First Team goalkeeper, where she has produced a series of outstanding performances. Highlights of her season include guiding the squad through multiple rounds of the Midlands Cup and delivering a standout display under the floodlights against Bromsgrove – a memorable landmark match in her developing career.

Jess’s goalkeeping journey began at The Downs, where she helped secure Bronze at the IAPS U11 Hockey Tournament, already demonstrating the composure and competitiveness that now define her play. She also made a name for herself nationally with a superb second-place finish at the National Prep Schools Cross Country Championship. At Malvern, she continues to run competitively, achieving an impressive second-place podium in the 2025 edition of the legendary Ledbury Run. Alongside her sporting achievements, Jess is a talented performer. She recently earned a Distinction in her Grade 7 LAMDA Speech and Drama exam and took on a seminal role in Malvern’s acclaimed production of The Cursed Child. Her standout performance contributed to the show’s nomination for Best Play at the National Schools Theatre Awards. She previously shone in Mary Poppins at The Downs and played a lead role in Pride & Prejudice.

Jess’s energy and enthusiasm extend far beyond sport and drama. She is an active member of the Royal Marines section of the CCF, sings in the Chamber Choir, performs regularly in Lunchbox Concerts, and is a founding member of Echoes of Ella, Malvern’s new all-female jazz band. A dynamic, well-rounded pupil, Jess sets an inspiring example through her commitment, talent, and positive attitude across all areas of school life.
