What is your favourite memory of Malvern College?

Like most OMs when asked this question it is very hard to pinpoint one specific memory, but the memories and friendships gained from No.2 boarding house would definately be up there. The interhouse rivalry on the sports fields will always remain some of my fondest memories at Malvern.

What attracted you to your particular career and what do you enjoy most about it?

I have always had a huge passion for sport and, if I am not participating in the physical side of sport, then I also want to be involved in the design and creation of sports products to aid athletes and take them to the next level. What I love the most about my job is that I get to travel the world and work with incredibly inspiring people and athletes, and design and develop products that will determine what the future of sport will look like for generations to come.

What part did Malvern College play in giving you the necessary skills for your chosen path?

I came to Malvern College on a Sports and Design Scholarship. Malvern allowed me to pursue my passion for sport but what set me up for my future career was having the incredible Design and Technology Department a stone’s throw away from No.2. This allowed me to work on my GCSE and A-level projects in my free time and I also gained excellent support from the teaching staff. The support and knowledge that the teaching staff gave me really prepared me for University to study Industrial Design and technology at Brunel University.

What are your ambitions?

Keep developing new products that will inspire and aid consumers on a global scale in the most sustainable way possible.

What advice would you give to current pupils contemplating entering your field?

Always remain inquisitive and ask lots of questions. Keep learning new design techniques and stay updated with the latest technologies and trends.

What advice would you give to current pupils about making the most of their time at Malvern College?

The five years at Malvern will pass in a blink of an eye so make the most of any opportunity and just say ‘yes’ to those opportunities that open up in front of you, from learning a new sport to studying a different subject.
