Sarah Angus

text-content

Teaching at a prestigious school in the heart of rural England was never on Sarah’s radar. Sponsored by a major city bank, Sarah read Economics at the University of Cambridge with the expectation that she would then blaze a career in investment banking and the world of finance. This route took a swerve when, following a voluntary placement with a youth scheme, she found a passion for working with, and aspiring teenagers to improve their prospects. The banking career was halted and a chapter in teaching began. In her fifteen years at Malvern College, Sarah’s remit and reputation have soared. Joining as an Economics Teacher, she was the inaugural House Mistress of Ellerslie Boarding House. From here she became Deputy Head Pastoral to her current role of Senior Deputy Head. From the classroom, to the boarding houses to the senior management team, Sarah is at the centre of all aspects of school life. Her favourite part of the job is seeing pupils develop and navigate their own future directions. As someone herself who changed paths, we can’t think of a better role model to lead the way.
