Sixth Formers at a Worcestershire school are celebrating today after receiving a stellar set of A Level results, with students securing the grades they need to study at prestigious universities in the UK and overseas.
The hard work of Malvern College’s A Level students paid off with young people being accepted at their universities of choice – including Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, St Andrews, UCL, LSE, and Exeter universities. Pupils who applied to non-UK universities, including Bocconi in Italy, IE in Madrid, University of Southern California and UBC, Canada can also now confirm that they’ve been accepted.
A Level pupils will now study higher education courses in Natural Sciences, PPE, Medicine, Cyber Security, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Human Sciences and Computer Games Technology. Away from university two pupils are heading off to flight school.
Emma Lang and Alex Green have both been accepted to the University of Oxford, joining Shuaichu Pan who received his place following the International Baccalaureate results. Two pupils will be studying Medicine; Hannah Thomas at the University of Southampton and Amy Grammaticus will read Medicine at the University of Liverpool. Former Chapel Prefect, Tom Hilton (A*, A*, A* and A) has accepted his place at the University of Bath to study Natural Sciences, which also comes with a 2-year rugby scholarship with a partnership with Bath rugby.
Keith Metcalfe, Headmaster at Malvern College, said: “Our pupils have once again shown their dedication and determination, achieving a fantastic set of results. Many of our top students have achieved the grades they need to attend a range of well-respected institutions in the UK and across the world and for this they should be very proud.”
At the start of July, the school celebrated the results of the 2024 International Baccalaureate (IB) cohort with a quarter of diploma pupils achieving 40-45 points out of a maximum of 45 points. Malvern pupils achieved an average score of 35, well above the world average of 30.32.
Mr Metcalfe added: “Both our A Level and IB results are a true demonstration of our pupils’ commitment to the Malvern Qualities – our tried and tested set of values that prepare our pupils for life beyond Malvern and enable them to work with anyone, anywhere. It is wonderful to see so many of our pupils do so well and we wish each of our students the very best in their future endeavours.”
