Football at Malvern

All coaches involved with our teams have Football Association qualifications and many have played at a high standard themselves.

The 1st and 2nd Xls plus the U15A Xl play in the recently formed ISFA Mercian league, where they have performed well so far, finishing in the top half of the table.

In the Autumn term, Sixth Formers can opt to play Football if they are not required to play Rugby and we regularly field two recreational XIs who play competitive games on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. We also enter a team in the Independent Schools Football Association Cup.

Girls' Football

Girls’ Football is played in both the Autumn and Lent terms, with training on Tuesdays and Saturdays. There is a full programme of fixtures at U18 level and a smaller number of fixtures at U15 level. Matches are regularly played against independent and state schools as well as local clubs.

Among the highlights have been winning the ISFA (Independent Schools Football Association) South-West of England Schools Sixes at both U18 and U15 level and four overseas tours between 2012 and 2016. The 2014-15 season saw the U18 Girls win the prestigious Mediterranean Cup in Verona against teams from Italy, the Czech Republic and the Middle East, and reach the Semi-Finals of the ISFA National Cup. Most recently, the U18 Girls won the SSS Rome Cup in March 2016, competing against the best international schools in Italy. In the past three seasons, four of our girls have gained selection for the ISFA U18 National Development squad.
