With German and Scottish roots and a childhood spent in Hong Kong, Alex has an inherent skill to learn, speak and teach different languages. Being fluent is one thing, but Alex’s appreciation of the world in which we live runs deeper than the spoken word as he brings to the classroom a passion to educate about other customs, cultures and histories. Learning a language not only broadens a pupil’s knowledge of the world but unleashes a landscape of global opportunities. Before teaching, Alex’s German expertise saw him flourish in an international career at Mercedes Benz. His language skills don’t just come from text books, but rather from industry, from travelling, through literature and through real life experiences. And that’s what we do at Malvern – we welcome pupils and staff from the wider world and learn how to be world-wise.
