Scholarships and Bursaries

There are no barriers to a Malvern College education.

The Malvern College Scholarship programme seeks exceptional pupils who possess a unique spark of brilliance.

Becoming a scholar means having the appetite not only to challenge limits within your field of excellence but across all facets of school life.

Our transformative scholarships inspire children to reach their greatest aspirations. Our scholars walk the path blazed by innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, musicians, artists, academics and celebrated elite athletes.

Expectations are high for all scholars and award holders, not just in their pursuit of excellence but in conduct and behaviour. Scholars are the Malvern College role models and stand as pillars of the pupil community, guided by the principles and values of our school.

Means-tested bursaries are also available to ensure there are no barriers to a Malvern College education.

Scholarships are offered in the following fields at 13+ (Key Stage 4) and Sixth Form:

  • Academic

Bursaries

Malvern College scholarships offer fee reductions of up to 15% for one award, and up to 20% for multiple awards. Bursarial remissions are calculated differently.

We have a long tradition of providing opportunities to children who would thrive in our school environment but who lack the financial means. Awards are means-tested and if needed can cover up to 110% of school fees. Malvern College bursaries are funded by philanthropic support through the Malvernian Society as well as directly by the College.

It is possible to hold both a scholarship and school bursary and we welcome pupils from all walks of life. We are proud of our inclusive student cohort: pupils at Malvern College come from all walks of life, from all over the world which creates the rich fabric of our school community.

Currently, our bursarial support focuses on pupils who are already based in the UK, and as such we are unable to support bursary applications from overseas pupils.

To discuss applying for a bursary for your child, please contact our Admissions Team via email at admissions@malverncollege.org.uk or call us on +44 (0)1684 581 515.

Scholarship Eligibility
  • Pupils must be formally registered for entry at Malvern College in order to enter for a scholarship.

  • Parents should discuss and agree a scholarship application with the Head of their child’s current school prior to completion and return of scholarship forms.
  • All scholarships are awarded on merit and determined largely by the child’s performance in the relevant assessment and interview.
  • More than one type of scholarship can be applied for and awarded, although the total fee remission across all awards will be capped at 20%.
  • Scholarship application forms must be received at Malvern College before the closing date. Applications received after this date will not be considered. All scholarship assessments are held at Malvern College.
  • The performance of each scholarship holder is reviewed on an annual basis by the relevant subject Head of Department and Housemaster or Housemistress. Concerns over performance or commitment will be discussed with parents. In exceptional circumstances the award may be withdrawn.
