Advancement Director

Malvern College seeks an enthusiastic and driven Advancement Director to join our team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a background in Development, Fundraising, Marketing, and/or Admissions who is ready to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic educational setting.

Established in 1865 in the scenic Malvern Hills, Malvern College is regarded as one of England’s great independent schools for students aged 13 -18. The College sits at the centre of a wider family of eight schools across four countries. A recent review described Malvern College as an ‘academic titan with world class facilities and astounding co-curricular pursuits’. Founded during Great Malvern town’s spa era, the College has grown and transformed over the last 158 years, and the group now proudly serves a student body of over 820 in the UK and a further 3,600 overseas.

The Advancement Director Role

The deliverables:

  • To provide strategic and team leadership: create, manage and oversee the College’s strategic plan for Advancement, and enable the Advancement Team to deliver executional excellence.
  • To support the College’s strategic priorities: primarily the development of an endowment fund for assisted places, contributions to the 10-year masterplan of infrastructure projects, and a specific focus on sustainability.
  • To establish connections with prospective major donors: delivering a 1:1 focus on prospects,(a) becoming a ‘road warrior’, traveling for face-to-face meetings both in the UK and abroad, including recommending and delivering supporting events and media collateral to facilitate this, and(b) networking with Council members and Old Malvernians to build relationships.
  • To engage and connect the wider Malvernian community: driving social, university and career networks, support and advice. This includes Old Malvernians (OMs), Old Downians (ODs), Ellerslie Old Girls (EOGs), past parents of The College and The Downs Malvern, and alumni from Malvern College International schools.
