Ellerslie House (Girls)

Emma Brown is Housemistress of Ellerslie House, which combines modern facilities with the very best aspects of traditional boarding. Emma is a graduate of UCL (MPhil) and at Malvern she teaches Philosophy and Religious Studies. She has six years experience of working in girls’ boarding and believes in encouraging the girls to tackle challenges and to make the most of their natural talents.

Emma is married to William, who cared for their children at home in their early years; he is a Design and Technology teacher. Their two children, Anna and Sophie, both enjoy living with the 'big girls' in the house, and the family all enjoy reading and cooking. Emma and William wish to create a family atmosphere in Ellerslie House, one that encourages girls to work hard as well as to develop close friendships. Together with the Ellerslie House staff, their aim is to create an experience of boarding at Malvern College that the girls will remember with fondness and which will prepare them for their life beyond.
